A custom fit mask to protect against pollen and other allergens
The Pollen Problem
During the the spring season nature blooms but bring with it a wave of pollen and allergies that hamper outdoor plans for sensitive populations. This project utilized 3D scanning, modelling, and print to create custom fit facial masks to combat pollen and other allergens
Ideation: Fashion and Function

3D Scanning
Utilizing a 3D scanning machine to accurately map my face and create a 3d model to start from. Red dot stickers were used to find hard points on the body, like bones, as starting points of the design.

Landmark Markings
3D Modeling: First Round
Using Rhino to create a frame for the mask to attach to. This would allow for the user to change styles easily and replace filters. From this the next step was looking at how the frame would fit and the best method of mask attachment.
3D Printing and Ideation
Both a face section and frame were printed. The frame was able to fit a range of faces comfortably. Next was looking at how the frame would hook over the ears and making low fidelity mockups of the masks

Final Modeling
The template for the mask made and rendered in Autodesk Fusion 360. Mask designs made in Solidworks.
